The CAS group was established in September 2013 by the Faculty of Computer Science and is headed by Christian Hansen. Our research is focused on Surgeon-Computer Interaction, Medical Augmented Reality, and Medical Image Computing. We offer lectures and seminars in the bachelor and master programs of Computer Science, Computational Visualistics, and Medical Systems Engineering.

We strongly cooperate with the research campus STIMULATE at Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg, the Institute of Computational Visualistics at University Koblenz-Landau, the Center for Human-Machine-Systems at Technical University Berlin, the Surgical Planning Laboratory at Harvard Medical School, Boston, and our partners within in the STIMULATE network, especially with the University Hospital Magdeburg, the Hannover Medical School, Fraunhofer MEVIS in Bremen, and the ARTORG Center in Bern, Switzerland.
