At this year's conference, which was held in Chicago( USA ) in October, were computational visualistics students from Magdeburg extremely successful: the scientist working groups of Prof. Bernhard Preim and Prof. Holger Theisel could presenting a total of 7 scientific articles and are this year one of the world most successful universities. One of the articles, the work of Tobias Günther, Maik Schulze and Holger Theisel about Rotationally invariant vortex structures, received even an "Honorable Mention Award " as one of the best posts on the conference. This is a novel process for visual analysis vortices in devices with rotating components such as mixers, Fans, centrifugal pumps, or helicopters, presented .
