This is the Homepage of the MoBIC Project at the University of Magdeburg. MoBIC is a part of the TIDE framework of the European Union aiming at providing a market for the rehabilitation technology all over Europe.
MoBIC ("Mobility of Blind and Elderly People Interacting with Computers") has the primary goal to help blind and elderly people in fixing their position and finding their way in towns. For this purpose electronic positioning systems (GPS) are used in connection with maps. A variety of information is to be integrated enabling preparations done at home within the MoBIC pre-journey system. The MoBIC outdoor system is designed for the actual way. It provides exactly positioning and easy access to all necessary information.
