Abstract
In computer graphics, silhouette extraction and rendering has a critical role in a growing number of applications. This paper examines five object space silhouette extraction algorithms for polygonal models. The algorithms are applied to a variety of models and compared in terms of code complexity and run time performance. The purpose of this paper is to inform programmers who must choose from among these five algorithms.
