abstract = {When looking at scientific publications or text books one can find
a lot of images used to explain facts and connections, to impart
knowledge or information. We refer to these pictures like Leister
as illustrations. A great variety of pictures are being used as
illustrations: photographs, photorealistic computer graphics,
line-drawings, diagrams, ... In many of these illustrations
special methods and techniques are used to emphasise parts of the
scene, to bring parts of the scene into the center of interest of
the viewer. In our work we concentrate on such methods used in
line-drawings. We have chosen this kind of images because of their
abstracting characteristics. In this article we want to explain,
which methods of painters can be applied to computer generated
line drawings to emphasise parts of the picture.},
